Before I even read the thread, I want to go on the record as saying the WHCD is one of the things I HATE with the heat of 1000 suns about the DC politico/media circle jerk.

Journalists shouldn’t be hosting such. They shouldn’t be socializing with politicians outside the office period. And the WH Correspondents Association (or whatever the formal name is) is utterly useless bunch of prima donnas preening because of their vaunted seats in the press room, which used to be a swimming pool (and is really tiny, at that).
