re: #624 Jeff In Ohio

Fair enough. Can I add in Medicare Part D, veterans health care costs, lost productivity to the economy, the diversion of priorities from domestic issues to war issues and tax cuts?

I’ll be honest, I don’t know how many times and for what reason Bush asked for a debt ceiling increase. Obviously spending and revenues were out of whack. I’m not disagreeing they are out of whack now. I will not agree to balancing the budget on the poor, working poor and middle class. If we need to look back, I’m not voting to let the wealth trickle down. Been there, done that, it’s bullshit.

I believe Bush raised it 8x and Obama 3. You probably won’t be surprised to learn that the repubs supported those under bush and the dems did not and they’ve managed to switch sides since the election. They’ll kick and scream for the cameras (and to get some of their pet issues funded/de-funded in a compromise) but they’ll vote for it. They always vote for it.
