THIS is the exact reason why Park51 absolutely has to be built where it’s planned. If it is, it proves that freedom of religion still holds true in this country … if it’s not built 2 blocks for GZ, it gives everyone like those in Murfreesboro an opening.

If they just go forward with it, the wingnut issue machine will likely tuck their tails and move on to gibbering about something else. Whatever the next thing they come up with will still be awful, but hopefully not something so likely to lead to vandalism and violence.
