Septermber 11 is in no way to be commemorated as a day of public service however.
Who are you to make such a pronouncement?
Plenty of people who lost family members that day think that public service is a perfect way to commemorate that day. Especially the lives lost of people who were serving the public that day.
BTW, the actual proposal is that it be a Day of Service and Remembrance, of course. I fail to see why anyone would object to this. It’s a good thing. And we don’t have to declare 9/11 a day of perpetual hate and rage to mourn our losses and condemn what happened.
