No, there are the next elections. You could lose them too, of course - but that’s democracy for you. Learn lessons from your defeats, move on to the next goal.

OK, one of the lessons of the defeat is that people on the “right” were apathetic and not involved. People on the “left” were energized and throwing money at the candidate, going door to door, pounding the pavement. I am not asking for the kind of unthinking mass hysteria that Obama got swept in on but how do we get people on the “right” to get involved. How do we exclude the kooks from that?

I realize that this has a lot to do with the candidates involved but the point is that the left has a gargantuan apparatus in this country geared to getting their own way. From the schools to the media to moveon.org, etc… Countering that used to be antiquated notions like “patriotism” or “responsibility” or “right”… Seeing as those have been delegitimized by the same “Leftist get your own way” apparatus something needs to be done to counter this whole thing. (As well as re-legitimizing and reaffirming some basic principals fundamental to the American experience and human dignity)

So, how do we build an organization from the ground up that can begin to counter what the left has assembled over the past 40 years while we were at work? What’s the alternative?

Or do we just do nothing?
