I keep hearing about how the left did not engage in the same sort of fear mongering from them top. I seem to reacall hearing all sorts of stuff about how Bush was going to establish a theocracy, Bush was a stupid dolt who was going to be the ruin of the US, Bush was going to let corporations run rampant and unregulated, etc, etc. People forget this because an event happened eight years ago Friday that changed all this stuff for the next several years.

As I said before, partisans tend to do this crap, and that includes Republican and Democratic partisans who are no different than their Democratic-Republican, Whig, and Federalist partisans before them.
