Life must be pretty hard for conservatives. They don’t want anything to change. Yet things keep changing. People, cultures, societies grow and learn. And yet they always want to go back to some prior period, which itself only existed after changes, small and large, had occured, creating the conditions upon which that era’s “normal” could be lived.

And the thing about evolution that they DO NOT GET:
It’s not survival of the fittest. It’s survival of who adapts best.
Works the same way in politics and civilization in general.
