This isn’t going to kill Obamacare. The Supreme Court will do that (in 34 states at least) next June when they announce their ruling. The Roberts court won’t miss their second chance to dismantle as much of the ACA as possible. No other plausible reason they would have taken the case.

If Obamacare remains in 16 states, the GOP probably can’t kill it there until 2017. At which point, the disparity in social services and economic inequality will be further exacerbated. Many blue states would set up their own versions of Romneycare at the state level (a huge success, as Mass. has the highest insured rate in the country).

Red states would mostly go back to the status quo ante ACA. In other words, they would continue their race to the bottom in everything from health insurance to occupational safety to minimum wages to anti-discrimination protection in housing/employment for gays and other minorities. My advice: if you live in a red state, fight like hell. Or move.
