Speaking as someone whose husband developed epilepsy (and then, recovered from it a decade or so later I’m happy to say) it is a really, really stupid reason to divorce someone. Once upon a time (1950’s and probably before that) epilepsy was considered to make people unsuited to married life, probably because controlling seizures was difficult, but there has been much medical progress.
It was due to eugenics. States (including my own) considered epileptics “feebleminded” and incarcerated them or sterilised them (or both).
