It’s anecdotal.

Talk to friends who are southerners and many of them will have stories about how northerners (especially urban white supposedly liberal northerners) somehow seem to feel like it’s more ok to tell racist jokes around them. As if they think that being from the south and white must mean you’re a racist.

It’s interesting how many cultural stereotypes we have. Some are about race and sex, but some are about ‘class’, and many are about region too.

Is it anecdotal, or is it fact?

You do this often. Your credibility is shot.

I have not seen — personally, in the south — that of which you speak.
