re: #51 american_peanuts

I am sorry my friend but you got a little mixup. Here are the are facts.

1) Gaza is not a state therefore it does not have international water.

Well, the position of the Israeli government is that Gaza is not part of Israel. Therefore, Gaza’s shore is not part of Israel territorial waters. That’s why they call it a blockade, and not merely the patrolling of Israeli waters.

2) Gaza is a territory controlled by the Hamas which is declared as a terrorist organization across the board.
3) Hamas was founded to make sure Israel is gone, Israel is in a state of war with Hamas.

Not relevant to my argument.

4) Israel as a sovereign state is allowed to defend itseld, and bring in a state of war examine vessels approaching. Stating Rachel Corrie never was in Israel water is playing fool. They had intentions to break the blockade and they stated it officially.

There are legitimate questions about the legality of the blockade under international law. See this and this. But that’s neither here not there. You specifically alluded to Israeli “national waters” in 48:

If you (not you…) agree Israel is a sovereign state, and has a right to live, no boat can cross into it’s national waters”

Do I hear an echo or did we see these facts written 5000 times in various places ?…

Often repeated facts may or may not be relevant, depending on the particular discussion you’re having.
