My neighbors at the time were little old Italian ladies. One told me that there used to be slate roofs on the houses on our block. When she was a little girl, a guy who was a Dr. for the mob (he preformed abortions on the mob hookers and checked their VD) told all his neighbors to stay away from their houses one night as he was going to blow up his own home for the insurance. He did, and all the slate roofs broke.
Lots of stories from those old gals. I wasn’t Italian, so they didn’t feel the need to keep up any pretense with me.
