I read the Fountainhead in 11th grade philosophy class and then saw Ayn interviewed by Phil Donohue. It was sickening. She was even attacking voluntary charity. I feel kind of bad for Ayn Rand since she was someone who experienced the USSR but she created a terrible inversion of Socialism that causes just as much damage. And I will say this about Marx, I don’t think he ever intended for his philosophy to be what Mao and Stalin turned it into.
