Just thinking out loud, shouldn’t Obama have tried back door channels first if he actually believes that there are moderate Taliban?
By publicly announcing his strategy he left himself open to looking like a fool.

They’re just not going to take him seriously until he gets a Mr. T haircut and has GM provide him with A-Team1.
