That was really cool. I believe it’s an E-bow he’s using. Basically, it’s an electromagnet that excites the guitar strings making a bow-like sound.

I was looking at Fernandes guitars at one point, who advertise having a built in sustainer in some of their models and a kit for installing in other guitars.
