Off topic but I love the strange evolution of words as exemplified by “rageaholic”. As you pointed out, it doesn’t really make sense because the “ahol” part comes from alcohol. But to take it a step farther (or is it further?) alcohol comes from the Arabic al kuḥl, meaning “the kohl”, so the English word contains an article within it.

Language is messy.
