I do remember right after the election news stories about a surge in gun-sales. This disturbed me, and what also disturbed me were comments on right-wing websites like this one saying to the effect how wonderful it was: “This means REAL ‘mericans still have duh fightin’ spirit! Obama’s not gonna take ‘r guns away without a fight! Yee-haw!” We now see one of the fruits of stupid paranoia that justified my unease when I saw these stories.

Golly, yeah, good thing I live here in Washington DC, where we had incredibly strict gun laws since 1976 (until those evil Bush buddy SCOTUS guys overturned them this past summer), and that’s why we have no gun violence whatsoever here.
