re: #48 prairiefire

First, she’ll be mad that I read it. Then, I’ll ask if they’ve actually done it, because I honestly am not sure when they’ve had an opportunity. Then I will tell her they can absolutely not sit apart from us when we all see a movie.
Then, I think we will have to wade through that murky water of acknowledging the allure of sexual passion and when it is actually appropriate for her.

I’m just a guy, but honestly I’m more concerned about the sexting than whether teenagers are doing it. Teenagers will do it. We all did. Fighting about it will not help.

But kids need to learn. The internet is forever. Texts are forever. Unless she’s comfortable with seeing what she sexted as a media headline, don’t type or text it. Personally, I’d take the content of the text, print it as a headline in whatever appropriate media format (newspaper, blog post headline, etc), and plaster it over walls.

The internet is forever. Guarding your online correspondence will end up being more important than guarding your virginity.
