At the risk of inviting flames, you really should give them a chance. I have to separate the politics of Chris Martin from the music. If you are a fan of early U2 or REM then you might appreciate them.

But if you don’t care for them, that’s cool too. I hesitated for the longest time because I didn’t trust their popularity but once I really listened to the lyrics and melodies I have to say that I find them creators of gorgeous music.

Just my two cents…

I tried to like them. I really did. For no other reason than so many people raved about them, I figured there must be something there.
But I just never could find even a single song I could like.

To me they are White Zinfandel. Once the rave for those who rarely drank wine ( like me) I tried and tried it but I never developed a taste for it but instead jumped straight to real wine which I really enjoyed.
