We have far too many rush to judgment types in this country. Types who I swear would do away with trial by jury if you gave them taht choice.

They never consider that it might one day be them, or someone they care about who ‘looks good for’ a crime. I’ve mentioned it before, but a wingnut once told me that even if some Death Row inmates didn’t commit the murders they were there for, they probably deserved to die anyway because the police wouldn’t have arrested them if they weren’t guilty of SOMETHING.

I really didn’t have anything to say to that. It’s Blackstone’s formulation turned on its head.
