We may be looking at a complete collapse of police authority in this country. Freeper racists still support any cop who kills a black person but there is also substantial dissent and criticism of the police even there. The killer cops are quickly losing all credibility, with elements of the political right as well as the left.

This has been a long time coming. Many years ago, Daryl Gates and the advocates of steroid pumped “aggressive policing” decided they could maintain control of society by brute force and intimidation alone, with no need for the approval and support of the “sheeple” who give them their power and who pay their salaries. “Sheeple” who still supported their local police, as the NRA used to advise, were laughed at as ass kissers and sycophants, behind their backs, and often to their faces.
This created a culture of arrogance whose adherents did not understand that in fact they still needed community support for the simple reason that the cops themselves and their few supporters and cronies in the legal system are neither strong enough nor numerous enough to maintain control by themselves.
Now their support is eroding away to nothing, and they are finding out that gunplay, ninja suits, and huge biceps alone will not cow the entire world.
