St. Johns is the next town south of my hometown in Michigan. This has been reported in local media there as well.

I’m not suggesting that Faux ginned this up on their own. One possibility is that one or two possibly impaired locals made the error and others ran with it for the usual benefits of statewide and now national publicity.
