I don’t get it. Real history is actually pretty badass. Is there no demographic in America that likes hearing cool stories they’ve never heard before? They just want to see old white guys argue over the price of crap they find in their garages? Really?

I suspect that it all comes down to budget. Old white guys will argue for free. In some cases, they’ll even pay to have an argument. Producing new shows about history requires research, travel, scheduling interviews, consulting historians, etc.

Also, we live in a universe where it’s possible for “Snooki” to become a millionaire simply by virtue of being a useless idiot.
