I look back because past is prologue. I have no aims to prop Obama up any more than he ever deserves, which at present, is little.

And if we’re going down the avenue of “moving forward”, why bring up what Candidate Obama said or did? See? Not so easy. I don’t know if President’s ever showed disdain or w/e. I don’t think Obama showed disdain in this instance. Rookies make rookie mistakes.

Obama called him after the joint session and talked with him for ten minutes about how much he loved the gift. He may have been apologizing, groveling or just bullshitting. Maybe next time he’ll get him a bomber jacket, which is apparently infinitely more worth-while than 25 movies (if that’s the consensus).

Obama’s learning the Presidency ain’t sitting on your ass gazing at the ceiling waiting for 2012. I expect mistakes; I look to our previous Presidents to know they happen. I don’t care what the press thinks of Obama - I’m not going to change my belief that an American president does not need to feel guilty for flubbing silly protocols.

As for my involvement here - this is the first time I’ve really disagreed with anything. So I doubt I’ll be involved as much as you think unless this happens often :P.
