What really annoys me about Romney’s statement is the absolute, shameless hypocrisy of it.

He’s flat-out saying Obama has no right to be the President. And he’s saying that’s because he’s divisive.

Well, what is saying that a President, duly elected under law, has no right to be president? Isn’t that divisive?

This is why, for all the things I could fault Obama for, I have difficulty really criticizing him. He already gets such a fucking torrential tirade of stupid, creepy, insane abuse. The extent to which he has not lashed back speaks to enormous restraint on his part. The only consolation is that restraint and humility must frustrate his opponents to no end— thus their hypocritical cries that he’s vain and arrogant.

Any non-conservative outside their control is vain and arrogant — which is to say, most people in the world. Social caveat: the darker and unconforming the non-con, the more vain/arrogant, and the deeper the conservative resentments against that person.
