John Boener and Paul Ryan ought to privately call Obama and thank him for helping to slap down this idiotic ‘birther’ meme.

At this point, I think they’d rather throw Molotov cocktails through the Oval Office windows. This didn’t slap down anything. It just inflamed the birthers even more, and just completely undid all the efforts that the GOP leadership had been making to kill the issue by trying to marginalize Trump and all the other loonies.

Right now, Trump’s out there taking credit for Obama releasing the long-form and people are falling all over themselves to whine that it’s a fake because of a bunch of morans who don’t know how Photoshop works. It also raises Trump’s profile with the lunatic base and further makes the rest of the GOP field irrelevant. This was gasoline on a fire, and brilliantly thrown by Obama. He’s got the GOP leadership pissed off now, because now the birthers are going even more insane than they had been.
