Editors are even bad in editing their lack of editing.

It wasn’t a ‘but it was a mistake…’ It should have been ‘and it was a mistake…’ or better.. ‘; it was….’. But implies intent to fix, he flat out put it there uncritically or meant the racial aspect of it. There is no middle ground.
