There is a difference between picking up brains off the floor after the violence has stopped (certainly a stressful and traumatic job) and seeing the brains of your classmates fall to the floor during the violence (stress and trauma amplified by overwhelming fear). It’s the fear that a forensic scientist doesn’t experience.

Self awareness just isn’t some people’s strong suit.

She also may be pushing away her own trauma so hard it’s made her very strong. She’s started to push away other people’s trauma.
