It’s getting a lot of attention, including some well known research physicians (I think I’ve linked the youtube video here before of a presentation a year ago at UCSD on this very topic.)
Humans are quite capable of digesting fructose and sucrose, given our primate nature. The problem clearly is overdosing on the stuff.
One of the sad side effects of modernity is our suicide by food phenomenon. Before the 20th century I doubt anyone would have thought it possible.
