re: #630 blueraven

When they actually do it let me know.
Look, I don’t like defending the Tea Party, but come on. They are not the fucking Taliban.

Yet. But, let me ask you this. If they could set up some Taliban like laws would they give it a shot?

And if you answer yes, how far would it go and could go?

Not to go Godwin. But I bet there were some very similar comments to yours back in the late 20s that Germany could never do what they did.

How does that kind of evil thinking start anyway? Answer…slow and on the down-low until it gets out of hand. Groups of people thinking ‘others’ are the cause of their problems. And then you get a group think going and then mob thinking. And then it ramps up until it gets out of control.

Are you willing to say it will never ever happen? If not, why not? And if so, how can you be so sure?

Maybe thinking we have some people that have the roots growing and could turn evil is good to do. And that is exactly what many are doing. Being cautious doesn’t hurt anything.

EDIT TO ADD: By the way…I don’t think all comments about an American Taliban is all about ALL Tea Party members. They make up a part. And if they don’t get their way, they will be heard one way or the other until that thinking gets stopped.
