LANSING, MI — Proponents and opponents of Michigan faith-based adoption legislation argue they’re both fighting for the same goal: Ensuring loving homes for foster kids.

The three-bill package, awaiting action on the House floor, would allow adoption agencies to deny service to prospective parents — without jeopardizing state contracts or funding — because of their sincerely held religious beliefs.
