Sounds like a cat fight to me

A federal official says scientists are concerned about a seep and possible methane near BP’s busted oil

the company hopes to leave it that way until crews can permanently kill the leak.

That differs from the plan the federal government laid out a day earlier, in which millions more gallons of oil could be released

Looks as if BP wants to keep the cap on until the relief well is done, and the Feds want to open it now. Could the “somethings leaking, we better open it up and check” be the gov’t way to EGT their way??

Cynical!?!?!,, why yes ,,, yes I am !!

The roi was worried earlier that the integrity test could put some pressure on the formation itself that could cause a leak (seepage) around the well, or in places away from the well. He felt so strongly that this integrity test was a stupid move, he actually contacted the Governor’s office to tell them they needed to fight the idea.

Now, whether this seepage was caused for the reasons he was concerned about is not known right now. All I know is that he was pretty upset about BP doing this integrity test, rather than just letting it continue to flow and capturing all of it, as they would have been able to do with this new cap.
