Kellyanne Conway’s version: she asked Pelosi if she would like to offer “a direct response to the president.”

“I don’t talk to staff,” Pelosi responded. “I talk directly to the president.”

“Really great,” Conway replied. “That’s really pro-woman of you.”

And Conway goes on camera to describe Nancy as being arrogant and dismissive.

A slightly different wording to the quote:

Pelosi’s chief of staff Drew Hammill offered a slightly different version of events, telling CNBC that Pelosi actually told Conway, “I’m responding to the president, not staff.”

The first wording makes her sound snooty and superior, the second version is simply the response of someone who is not going to waste her time with underlings after their boss stomps off in a huff.
