Yeah, I can see how the parts about charity, praying, fasting, etc. would be offensive. Not to mention the part that says Muslims are obliged to obey the laws of whatever country they live in, and if that becomes impossible then we should seek to emigrate to an Islamic country (instead of causing strife)—let’s be sure to strike that down and create a problem where there currently is none.

There’s no actual thought or research put into these things. They’re swinging at ghosts that exist only in their minds. It’s hard to rationally argue for the passage of a clearly irrational law that is a non-solution to a problem that doesn’t exist.
