I had one of those call centers in India call me to say they were from Microsoft and all I had to do to fix my horribly (according to them) broken computer was go to their website and follow their instructions.

I played dumb (which I do really, really well - no snide comments! :-) ) and kept asking them over and over what website? Who are they? Well, of course I want my machine fixed! Who are you? What website? What’s the URL? How do I do that? (blink blink head tilt bat eyelashes)

I just wanted to waste their time since I had time that day to do so.

When they finally figured out I wasn’t going to play their silly games the guy threatened me by saying they were going to report me to Microsoft and that my internet would be turned off.

I was laughing so hard when he said that…through guffaws and tears I told him to have at it.
