Conservative estimates predict a far shorter lifespan than 5K years. Depending on unfound resources is a mug’s game, too.
I am fully pro-nuclear. I think we need to start building nuclear reactors, and fast, and with the latest designs.
I just don’t want the assertion that it’s the only viable energy alternative to gain a foothold. Nuclear is not going to be an option that’s heavily exportable, and we need to export clean energy technology.
That’s the key statement, and one i agree completely with. The other points are interesting but very minor once we all agree on the middle part. I wish I understood better the opposition to the premise - it just seems so self-evident to me as a natural bridge to more viable renewable tech.
