Because Mitt Romney cares so much about uniting the nation. All Mitt cares about Mitt looking good so he can become presidnet. What a jerk. And it’s typical of the right wing attitude that refuses to accept that many of us voted for Obama. Criticize his policies, sure but the no right is a lot of crap on Mitt’s part and he knwos it.

The other part of it is their inability to compete with others on a peer basis, since that means the potential to lose to someone they deem lesser than they are. Afaic, that’s what state-forced segregation, no vote for women, quotas against Jews, shutting out people with disabilities, and other forms of social conservatism, is/was all about.
