The capital gains are a separate issue. I have a feeling a lot of the investment income isn’t even in the US. Obama has been working to solve the reporting issues on “hidden” money.

But most of that kind of “hidden” income isn’t in Swiss banks anymore as it was traditionally; it’s in offshore accounts. The Swiss weren’t exactly as adverse to the idea of removing banking anonymity from being a “tax haven” like some of the Caribbean countries will be, some of which get a lot of income themselves from those post office drop “banks”.
