Watching the Waltons reminds me that the radio was the tv of that time. And they got all of their media entertainment from the radio. Isn’t it interesting how incredibly popular podcasts are? The radio/audio was an unsung media for decades and now it’s exploding again.

When I was a kid Mom and Dad didn’t get a TV until late 1959 when Grandma and Grandpa gave them their Admiral set. We had an old Philco AM radio with a 78 turntable. Still remember listening to WIlliam Conrad as Matt Dillion and John Dehner was Paladin. Sure was shocked to see Gunsmoke and Have Gun Will Travel when we got the TV!
