And your customers have a right to take their business elsewhere. Of course, I’m sure your “competitors” will be quick to slap on their own fees and restrictions, making that right moot.

See, this is what burns me: Some jackass decides they’re going to slap a fee on something to squeeze a few extra dollars out of their customers. Then, instead of doing the smart thing and advertising their services as not having this fee, their competitors ALL DO THE SAME THING. It happens in the airline industry, it happens in the banking industry, and it royally pisses me off. Not to mention giving rise to a legion of conspiracy theories about how these companies must all be collaborating.
