re: #738 iceweasel

I made a clear distinction at least twice in this thread between Objectivism and what Ayn Rand actually wrote, and stated that there is a difference and my remarks were about Ayn Rand’s work. But Randian fanboi here either doesn’t read what I’ve already said, or deliberately mischaracterises it, or is too bloody thick to get it.
Possibly all three.
I think it’s time to play some music…

Between Objectivism and what Ayn Rand actually wrote, false dichotomy. You used twisted logic to state that Ayn Rand stated that it was wrong to help people here:

It explicitly calls on people to be self-sufficient; a corollary to that claim is that it is wrong to not be self-sufficient, and Rand most certainly does spin that, in that book and elsewhere, into the idea that it is wrong to encourage others not to be self-sufficient— that is, to help them.

I provided text from an interview where she clarified that she is against charity being treated as a central/primary moral duty (mandated action for morality); and she clearly stated (and I emphasized) where she clarified that helping someone isn’t necessarily wrong. And how do you civilly respond? By just claiming that I’m wrong and that the pasted quote undermines my position (curiously lacking a civil explanation).

And seriously, name calling… projection again.
