Well, I remember the 386 myself. In my case it replaced a 286. When I installed the old Battle of Britain game I’d had on the older machine, I remember being happy to have it run without freezing. That old 386 is long gone, but when I got it I was glad to have it.

My husband pulled out his old games from his teenage years and loaded them on that computer. (I’m pretty sure it was a 386 or a 286.)

Run run run lightspeed crash.

The new computers ran the program so fast he couldn’t react in time to do anything, and the tank or whatever it was would crash into whatever it was headed towards.
