His point was obvious - there are many in Muslim countries that are angry at the US and will not stop fighting until they hear an apology and see changes. He did not say he agreed with them, nor was what he said inaccurate.

Why do you find this so hard to understand?

What exactly are we supposed to apologize for? Buying oil?

Or supporting Israel?

I’m guessing the later would go further, but don’t hold your breath.
