The thing about the Romney fundarising tape is how relaxed he seems. Most of the time when he’s talking or doing a media thing or whatever, he’s very stiff, he’s very in control. This tape is the only time I’ve seen him where he seems comfortable, and it’s while he’s comfortable that he’s saying his most extreme and stupid stuff.

That’s a big part of it: the Romney campaign kept telling us there was a relaxed, human, jovial Romney, and now we’ve seen it, and he’s relaxed and jovial while dismissing half of America as lazy assholes.
