Speaking of, I discovered earlier this week that Macs enjoy being permanently paired to their peripherals. If the editing in question was done on a Mac, it’s quite likely that - if the computer had been shared with someone that had a Bluetooth keyboard - the randomness would come from the Mac spontaneously deciding it was close enough to that keyboard to use it, and picked up its keystrokes sporadically.
