Well, though this might sound a bit tautological, the only people who are going to care about this are those who care about this…

Anyway, I think it’s important to point out that the international law is ambiguous on this — when discussing this, people usually just pick one position and start screaming at each other instead of discussing it through.


I hear you. To me, the discussion which is hardly ever broached is the one of the future. As you say, people want to get into heated arguments over “fault”. However, time marches forward regardless of the skill of orators or debaters. A thought experiment might go like this: What will this situation be like in 1 day, 10 days, 100 days, 1000 days, 10000 days, 100000 days? Is there some point where a magic fairy comes down and waves her wand and all of sudden the problem(s) go away? Of course not. So then the parties involved (and not some fairy) are going to have to find a way forward.
