I would really like to see thorough enforcement of some of the laws we already have to cut down on gun crimes. When a felon tries to buy a gun and fails the background check he or she can be arrested. That’s rare. When a guy buys heavy caliber rifles one after another after another, it’s reasonable to check up on those guns. Start arresting the straw men. Put a little less resources into going after illegal drug dealers and get more good investigators after illegal gun runners/dealers.

Take Californians legal example and add lots of years to the sentence if a criminal uses a gun in another criminal act like robbery and rape. Add a decade. If he shoots (even if no one is hit), add 15 years.
