Romney did a complete 180 during the debate. Tax cuts, health care, investment in the future, Medicare, that utterly baffling garbage about regulations….When he goes on his little 50k per-plate fundraisers, it’ll be another 180. In terms of optics and appearance, it worked very, very well for him tonight.

It was the type of debate that would probably have won over a lot of voters before the days of internet/youtube/facebook/twitter etc. There’s the old line If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, then baffle them with bullshit. Well, he dazzled with his bullshit. Will it have a huge effect on those likely to vote? Doubtful.

It will be interesting to see in the next few days how the Obama camp plays this. If it become a slew of attack ads against Mitt, then we can assume B.O. was just feeding Romney rope to hang himself. If it doesn’t, then it will look like he was unprepared, because Mitt left huge openings for Barack to throttle him in the solar-plexus.
