This really isn’t so bad. The fabric is pretty stiff, and it’s tacked into a wood frame. The needle is also larger than what I normally use for cross stitch (tapestry #22 instead of #28) - that’s yarn there (hand-painted! and one ply).

It’s supposed to be a LOT easier to do while in a car. Cross stitch on linen is virtually impossible, I want something besides crochet to keep my hands occupied.

I think you’d really like the colors on this piece. It’s all browns and greens - appropriate, since this piece is called “Sierras” and is meant to evoke memories of the mountains.
