USDA Emergency Food Assistance Program.

Program Purpose

The objectives of the ARRA TEFAP funding include:

1. Provide additional food to food banks, food pantries, and soup kitchens, so that they may better serve the increased number of individuals seeking assistance through the nation’s emergency food system due to recent economic conditions.

2. Provide additional administrative resources to State agencies and local organizations to absorb costs associated with the increased distribution of food.
